I really wanted to give this book 5 stars, but the last 1 4 of the story was a little underwhelming The story of Jason Thistledown and the peculiar town of Eliada, Idaho is for the most part an intriguing tale the extraordinary and transcendental happenings of a small mid western town in the early 20th century which include KKK clansmen, degenerate hill folk, and an African Cave Germ provide enough mystery to keep the reader interested When you tie in Nazi eugenics experiments, divine visions I really wanted to give this book 5 stars, but the last 1 4 of the story was a little underwhelming The story of Jason Thistledown and the peculiar town of Eliada, Idaho is for the most part an intriguing tale the extraordinary and transcendental happenings of a small mid western town in the early 20th century which include KKK clansmen, degenerate hill folk, and an African Cave Germ provide enough mystery to keep the reader interested When you tie in Nazi eugenics experiments, divine visions, and the unearthly Jukes, the story becomes altogether compelling Though the town s founder, Mr Garrison Harper, intends to create a veritable heaven on earth, Eliada, as with most utopias, proves...
